Have you ever thought about going on a mission trip, but couldn’t make it fit into your hectic summer schedule??? Instead of a big far-away mission trip, we’re staying in Fargo-Moorhead this summer to serve and have some fun for a few days together.
From June 28th through 30th, we’ll be hanging out together for a local summer mission trip. . . We will eat all our meals together and sleep at the church each night while serving throughout the community during the day and enjoying fun evening activities.
Throughout the three days of work, you will experience a variety of local volunteer opportunities. While we’re still lining up the details, we’ll spend approximately half a day working with several of the following organizations
- Nokomis Child Care
- Dorothy Day House & Food Pantry
- The Salvation Army
- Churches United for the Homeless
- YWCA Women & Children’s Shelter
- Fraser (mentally disabled adults)
- Calvary UMC (helping spruce up our building)
- Convoy of Hope (an all city church outreach happening on June 30)
And it’s not just about work! Our evenings together will include great food, times to play together, and a chance to worship ∧ debrief together each night. Some of the evening activities we’re considering are Thunder Road, bonfires out of town, pool party, etc.
Because this is a short local trip, we hope that many of you can join us. Even if you have a sports activity one of the evenings or can’t stay the whole time, we would still love to have you join us! If you are interested in participating, turn in your updated release form and $25 registration fee by June 22. Registration Forms are available at the bottom youth page.
Not a long van ride. . .Not much Cash. . . Not a huge time commitment. . . And time to seek the Lord, do His work, and make new friends. . . Come on! Please let me know if you have any questions.
Many Blessings, Blake Carlson
For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’ “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’
